About Dr Johnny Kwei

Dr Kwei has been recognised amongst his peers both within Australia and across the world for his high quality surgical outcomes. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS), a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS). He currently serves as Honorary Secretary of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and Assistant National Secretary for Australia for the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).
Specialist Experience and Positions
Dr Kwei grew up in Perth where he graduated from medical school at the University of Western Australia in 2000. Wanting to further his training as a plastic surgeon, he moved to Sydney. After years of extensive training, he was granted a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
Dr Kwei embarked overseas on an Advanced Surgical Training Fellowship in both Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. He spent almost a year working at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham (United Kingdom) and underwent further training with some of the world’s leading plastic and cosmetic surgeons in New York (USA) and Seoul (South Korea) which led to the refinement of his techniques.
Dr Kwei is a well respected Plastic Surgeon who is the Honorary Secretary of the NSW Chapter of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons.
He operates at North Shore Private Hospital, Castlecrag Private Hospital and Wyvern Private Hospital. He has also worked as a Plastic Surgeon consultant at both the Royal North Shore Private Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Surgical training and education are passions of Dr Kwei. Since returning to Sydney, he has remained actively involved in the training of upcoming surgeons and was the Network Director for Surgical Training for Northern Sydney Area Health in 2016 and 2017.
He is currently the NSW Director for Australian and New Zealand Surgical Skill and Education Training for the Royal College of Surgeons. In addition to these highly rewarding positions, Dr Kwei is also a Senior Lecturer at the Macquarie University School of Medicine.
