About Dr Greg Hackman
Dr. Greg Hackman is a highly experienced Australian Anaesthetic Specialist with over 20 years in the field. He earned his medical degree from the University of London in the United Kingdom before completing five years of specialist training. With more than 25 years of medical expertise, Dr. Hackman is dedicated to delivering safe, precise, and compassionate anaesthetic care.
Specialist Experience and Positions
Dr. Hackman’s extensive specialist training spans all areas of anaesthesia, including surgery, pain management, critical care, resuscitation, and medical emergencies. In his senior practice, he has focused on anaesthesia for plastic and reconstructive surgery, ENT, orthopaedic, ophthalmic, paediatric, and general surgeries, serving patients in and around North Sydney.
Since 2009, Dr. Hackman has worked as a consultant anaesthetist in both Canada and Australia, alongside his role as a pre-hospital medicine specialist and CareFlight retrieval specialist across NSW, Queensland, and Canada. He has also been actively involved in medical education, serving as an instructor in medical simulation training for emergency management.
Dr. Hackman also has a specialist interest in regional anaesthesia, utilising advanced local anaesthetic techniques to enhance pain relief. He incorporates ultrasound guidance to improve both the quality and safety of anaesthesia procedures.
Beyond the work
Dr. Hackman loves spending quality time with his family and friends, including his two boys. He’s an avid outdoorsman, often found catching waves in the surf or exploring mountain bike trails.
